How do I know if I need a professional organizer?

If you relate to any or all of the items below, you would benefit greatly from having some help from a professional organizer:

  • You are overwhelmed because the mess is out of control.

  • You have so much stuff that you don't have the room to store any more.

  • The space that you have is not efficient and you need help in making the most out of what you have.

  • You really want to get organized and see value in it, but don't know where to start.

  • You have endless amounts of paper that you don't know what to do with.

  • You can't find important information in your home or office

  • You are constantly stressed because you spend too much time trying to find things.

How long will it take to get organized?

Every organizing project is unique. The amount of time your project will take will depend on the size of the area to be organized, amount and type of clutter, and how quickly you make decisions about what to keep and what to eliminate. By working with a professional organizer, you will get through the process much more quickly than if you go it alone.

 

How much will it cost?

The cost will vary from project to project.  We charge by the hour with a minimum of 3 hours per appointment or you can purchase multiple sessions at a discounted rate.  During the initial consultation, we will discuss estimates for your organizing project.  You determine how often we meet based on your motivation and budget.   Check our Services page for current rates.

Will you make me get rid of all my stuff?

No, we will not make you get rid of anything.  We will ask questions and make suggestions to help you determine what is or is not important to you. You make the final decision on what to eliminate and what to keep.

What will happen to the items I no longer want to keep?

We will help you find an appropriate new home for any items you no longer want. Options include donations to local charities, consignment to resale shops, preparing for a garage sale or finding a collector for specialty items. 

What if I'm embarrassed by all the clutter?

We have seen all kinds of situations so there is no need to feel embarrassed.   We will always be supportive and non-judgmental.  After all, you are taking the initiative to make a positive change in your life by becoming organized.

Will you keep our sessions confidential?

As a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers, we adhere strictly to its Code of Ethics which emphasizes confidentiality, honesty and integrity.

 

Your trust in us is of the utmost importance so you can be assured of absolute privacy when working with us.

How do I stay organized once our sessions are done?

Maintaining your newly organized space will require some discipline on your part.  Hopefully, the sense of satisfaction, control and peace that you experience in your clutter-free environment will motivate you to maintain it.  If things get away from you, we can assist you with telephone consultations, email support and/or follow-up visits to get you back on track.
